Bringing in Books

  1. The best time to bring in books is during the week, especially in the late afternoon.

  1. The worst time to bring in books is the weekend. Our weekends are always very busy. If you bring in books on Saturday or Sunday, we may not be able to get to enter them while you wait.

  1. Please bring in only one small bag or small box at a time.

  1. When you bring in books, please leave them in their box or bag, along with the name your account is under.

  1. All our books are on inventory, which means we enter each book as it comes in. We also keep track of your store credit and any books you’ve placed on request.

  1. Sometimes... we can’t take all the books you bring in, but we’ll always offer to donate what we can’t take to the library.

  1. If you rather take your books home than donate them, we ask for you to wait for us to finish before you leave. Our store policy is- if you leave books to be picked up later, we’ll only hold them for 24 hours. After 24 hours, we’ll donate them to the library. Sorry, but we just don’t have the room.

  1. You can not use your credit on new books or gifts, only used books and used audio books.

  1. Your account will expire one year from the date of your last transaction.

The kinds of books we take-

  1. We LOVE literature, as well as anything the kids have to read for school.

  1. Text books are fine, but nothing older than a few years.

  1. Non-fiction must be recent.

  1. Books must be clean, no mildew or mold, have all of their pages, tight bindings, and the front and back covers.

  1. We won’t take any books that are now, or once were, a valued chew toy for your favorite animal, child or pet zombie.

  1. If we have too many copies of a book, we may refuse your copy of the same book.

  1. All hardbacks must have their original cover or dust jacket.

  1. We won’t take the following- Reader’s Digest, encyclopedias, magazines, coloring books, sticker books, workbooks, journals, series romances, National Geographics, Disney books, and some older chapter book series such as, Mary Kate and Ashley, Wishbone, and Baby Sitters Club.

  1.  Every once and a while, we’re asked to look through a list of books a customer wants to bring in for credit. Unfortunately we don’t have the manpower to do this, nor can we guarantee credit for a book until we can see what kind of condition it is in. Your best bet is to bring in a small shopping bag, and let us sort through it ourselves. We'll always offer to donate any books we don't take to the library if you don't want to take them home.
