Poetry Night with Jeremy Michael Reed and Hank Backer​​​​​​​

Read It Again Bookstore is excited to welcome Jeremy Michael Reed and Hank Backer to our new weekly poetry series. Jeremy and Hank are old friends. This should be a fun and lively conversation about poetry and common interests.

Jeremy Michael Reed holds a Ph.D. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee, where he was the editor-in-chief of Grist: A Journal of the Literary Arts and assistant to Joy Harjo. His poems and essays are published or forthcoming in Still: The JournalValparaiso Poetry ReviewWestern Humanities Review, and elsewhere. He is an associate editor for Sundress Publications and assistant professor of English for Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

Hank Backer teaches English at the University of Tennessee. He recently graduated from Georgia State University’s creative writing program, where he worked as an assistant editor for Five Points and a poetry editor for New South. He has work forthcoming or published in Connotation Press, Grist, Red Paint Hill, Loose Change, The Rectangle, and elsewhere.
