Read It Again Bookstore is excited to welcome Katie Condon and Conor Bracken to our new weekly poetry series. Kaite and Conor are old friends. This should be a fun and lively conversation about poetry and common interests.
Katie Condon is the author of Praying Naked, which won the 2018 The Journal Charles B. Wheeler Poetry Prize and is published by Mad Creek Books. Her recent poetry appeared in or is forthcoming from the New Yorker, Tin House, and Prairie Schooner. Katie’s poetry has received support from the Bread Loaf Writers Conference and Inprint. She is the 2019-2021 Creative Writing Fellow in poetry at Emory University. Katie holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Tennessee.
Conor Bracken is the author of Henry Kissinger, Mon Amour, published by Bull City Press in 2017 and winner of the fifth annual Frost Place Chapbook Competition. His translation of Mohammed Khair-Eddine’s Scorpionic Sun was published by CSU Poetry Center last September. Recent poems and translations appear or are forthcoming in BOMB, The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Poetry Northwest, Waxwing, and elsewhere. Former Moon Papas Island Poet-in-Residence and poetry editor for Gulf Coast, he is the current assistant professor of English at the University of Findlay. He graduated from Virginia Tech and received his MFA from the University of Houston.
