When I told my daughter that Stan Lee had died, she was sitting in our humor section, reading a comic book. We had a cry. We stood there hugging, in my bookstore and had a small cry. I read a lot of Marvel comic books as a kid. I would say Stan Lee was just as influential to my childhood as Walt Disney (and I grew up in FL), Mr. Rogers and Levar Burton. I struggled to read as a child. Comic books helpped me connect words to action. They helped me to escape reality and they sparked my love for all things scifi and fantasy. Growing up, almost every comic book I read had Mr. Lee's name on it. Stan Lee, you left an amazing legacy. Thank you.
